Cobham Childrens' Centre
Family Fun Day
Cobham Children's Centre, in partnership with Love of Learning, and funded by The R C Sherriff Trust , hosted a Family Fun Day on 16th April bringing families together for a day of artistic fun.

Sandra Thompson, the RC Sherriff Trust's Project Manager, writes:
Today I went to Cobham Village hall to meet up with our artist Donagh Curwen and the Love of Learning team - Lynn Sinclair and Dorah-May Hancock - and Centre Manager Carol Robbins to see what was going on at the Family Fun Day.

Lots of children, from toddlers upwards, and their parents and friends were each given a prepared canvas to work on and ideas from Donagh Curwen on the theme of 'Starry Nights'. Donagh showed a few finished examples to give the children some inspiration and then they were off!

As you can imagine, with the age range present the ideas flowed wonderfully. The children and their parents and friends worked incredibly well together, sharing ideas and pooling their imaginations to produce some really amazing artwork.

The idea of the Family Fun Day - which included Story Time and Music - is one promoted strongly by Love of Learning; working with the Childrens' Centre, encouraging families to work and play together while also providing an educational and artistic stimulus to the children involved.
