Children and their parents and families were invited to take part, learning about the history, tradition and culture of African rhythm in a fun environment. Everyone had a wonderful time; children and their parents joining together to learn the theory and also the (very loud!) practice of drumming. This was literally a 'hands-on' experience! Funded by The R C Sherriff Trust , STARS - the St. John's Residents Association - and Love of Learning have been running a series of African Drumming Workshops for local children and their families at the Cromwell Community Centre in Walton.
Artists from Earthsong, a group of musicians and teachers specialising in World Music came along to the Cromwell Community Centre in Walton for sessions of hands-on musical fun and games with the focus on African drumming.
