Laura Mason & Colleagues
Laura, on behalf of 5 Elmbridge-based 3rd year apprentices at the Royal School of Needlework, Hampton Court, received a grant towards the cost of mounting an exhibition of their work showing how traditional embroidery techniques have been adapted and applied to more creative and experimental pieces. The exhibition - the first of its kind - will be both a platform to launch the careers of the apprentices and an opportunity for the School to encourage younger and more diverse applicants. Specifically, the grant is to be used to buy 50 UV-glass frames of various sizes to mount and protect exhibits. The frames will become a permanent resource for the School after the exhibition.
