Val Biro
Val Biro drives to the venue in his vintage car 'Gumdrop' upon which 36 of his books are based. He gives talks (50Mins) which include telling a story and showing inllustrations on his slide projector. Workshops: he talks about the charactors in his many books, he asks the children to draw and colour, cut them out and then paste them onto a frieze - he draws 'Gumdrop' for the centre of the frieze. |

Paul Geraghty
Paul is an author/illustrator of children's picture books and novels. He gives up to three different hour long presentations in a day, to audiences of 70-100 at a time, on the subject of picture books. He will also leave behind six large, signed, coloured felt-tip sketches done on the day. Usually schools keep and frame these, but they fetch around £100 each if auctioned.

KAZZUM
Kazzum specialises in creating theatre productions for audiences of children and young people aged 3-16 years. These productions normally take the form of contemporary adaptations of classic world stories/tales and are presented at schools and theatre venues in Greater Londonn, nationally and beyond. Kazzum aim to develop a workshop and teacher's pack to accompany each production. We seek to make these relevant to current curriculum. Kazzum also specialises in work with children from refugee communities and prides itself in the fact that it has become a pioneer in creating theatre that is sensitive to a child's emotions and the way in which he/she perceives the world.

Miso'shi
Assembly: an informal introduction of Ghana and Africa in general, celebrating the differences and drawing strength in the similarities and diversity of cultures in the UK and contributions interspersed with rhythm clapping and music and hand jive. Storytelling: encouraging listening, participation, recall, discussion, retelling, either through drama, dance or performance of the story. Opening doors into another culture, exploring the hidden meaning of the morals of the story, drawing out citizenship, PSHE. Dance: improvised using space, gestures, facial expression and music from Africa generally. Retell stories. Music: texture, pitch, tempo, duration, composing, listening to African rhythms and drumming. Fabric Arts: Ghanaian traditional printing using Adinkra printing motifs on blocks, tie and dye, safe batik. The background of each art-form is explained. The children are allowed to have ownership and encouraged to fully participate actively as well as listening. |

Brian Moses
Brian writes and edits poetry and picture books for children and resource books for teachers. Brian gives a mixture of workshops with individual classes and performances either with the whole school or separate key stages. Performances include chorus poems and a variety of percussion instruments to emphasize rhythms of poems. He can set up a trail around the school grounds so that children may be taken out to points along the trail and write on location. He also holds evenings for parents and children writers. |

June offers interactive storytelling performances ranging in content from mesopatanian myth, arthurian legend and siberian epic to fairy tales and finger rhymes. Progammes include music and song as apporpriate the age group (harp, fiddle, mbira and voice) and can be themed to suit curriculum work, or formed spontaneously to suit the mood and age of a class group. June also provides language workshops, and specialises in 'storyfair' where older children retell to younger ones. |

Theatre Exchange are a professional theatre company offering a series of education programmes related to the History, English and Drama curricula. Their programme ranges from 2 hour workshops to longer residencies and covers a variety of topics, including Shakespeare and other set texts.
