Julia Gascoigne Palmer
Drawing: I like to teach children observational skills and work from objects and life models. To look and record the 3D world and explore methods of how to represent in 2D. I use plenty of basic materials such as charcoal, chalk, pencil, rubbers and a variety of papers. We cover core skills such as the use of line and tone, as well as perspective and composition. Painting: Using a variety of mediums together - collage, ink, pastel, paint and crayon, I teach about the use of colour. Often I use a colourful still life as a starting point, taking a small section of the whole to make a design.
